Steve Maltby - Managing Director Paragon Remarketing

Describe your role.

My role is to oversee the online Remarketing business and grow and strategically align the business ensuring its success for the future. By understanding the changing requirements of the business, we support customers to sell vehicles at maximum values in these changing and challenging times.

What is your background?

I have over 30 years experience in the automotive industry. At the start of my career I worked in the vehicle rental sector and before joining Paragon, I was Managing Director of Easy Car.

What skills are required for the role?

Balancing supply and demand through a nationwide marketplace is essential as online remarketing enables large volumes and entire fleets to be sold in a controlled manner. The ability to manage the supply back into the market is essential to ensure that we don’t saturate the market with the same type of car at once.

What is the greatest challenge facing the remarketing sector?

In today’s challenging environment it’s absolutely essential to ensure that cars going to market are competitively priced, well maintained and presented to a high standard ensuring a sale at the highest achievable price.
